The camp is built on the promise that those who seek God will find Him, and is offered with the fervent prayer that we will inspire girls to seek Him with all of their hearts.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.
These Godly women are graciously giving their time to share the stories God is writing in their lives, and to offer sound Biblical teaching to the girls of Academy 31. They will also be available for one-on-one mentoring and counseling upon request. We pray that their lives and teaching inspire you to follow the example of their faith as you consider the outcome of their conductHebrews 13:7.
The role of our guest instructors is to show a tangible outworking of what faithful Godliness looks like in a woman’s everyday life.
Skills classes will include topics such as practical life skills such as banquet preparation, auto care, health and nutrition, business, and several aspects of communication. Additionally, there will be electives which allow girls to pick topics that interest them. Choices may include photography, scrapbooking, business, writing, quilting, and farm work.
These practical life skills will enrich the girls’ ability to serve those around them, while providing an opportunity to practice doing all we do to the glory of God. “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” – Colossians 3:17
Somewhere along the way, excitement fades as we sink back into the reality of mundane, everyday life accompanied by its stresses and blahness (and mounds of dishes and hordes of hungry people).
We at Academy 31 believe these verses contain the solution:
“He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will behold your Teacher. Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left.” – Isaiah 30:19-21
Although Godly teaching is vital, and mentors can be so helpful, and times of refreshing are wonderful and right and good, we must recognize God as our Teacher. We must learn to hear His voice directing us. We must learn to follow Him.
To that end, girls will have substantial time to be alone with God, studying the Word and praying. There will also be small groups to study the Bible and pray for one another, headed by A31 leadership. The most wonderful thing we could wish for you is that you will know God. There is nothing you can learn that is of any value in comparison to knowing Him. And we can absolutely promise you – because He does, and His Word is faithful and true – that if you seek Him with all your heart, you WILL find Him.
