Today the girls got up early, earlier than the wake up call I might mention, so they could start the day sooner. They hit the ground running with Sunshine. Had a fabulous breakfast that Ana and Beth made, and can I just say that the food here is incredible? Quiet time was followed by home repairs with Mama L.
The girls learned some basics like how to fix a screen, replace the belt in a vacuum, repair a garden hose and some other extremely useful stuff.
After lunch games sprung up all over camp. Dutch blitz, telephone pictionary, and I don’t know what all.
Electives were taught by Bullet who taught on hymn improv, and Mrs. Austin who taught the girls how to use herbs. The piano class sounded lovely and the herbs class was “tasty” as they tried some herb tinctures.
I was very encouraged by the Medicinal Herbs class. It was also interesting to learn how easy it is to change a screen in Home Maintenance. Then I was challenged by Bullet’s talk. If Jesus Christ is in the core of us, we should be dripping Him, His love and His strength — like a chocolate-filled donut! – Lisbeth
Then we heard from Bullet on the heart of the Proverbs 31 woman, and how virtue means strength.
Acts of service are ways of “dripping” the love of Jesus on others. – Bullet
Then came a valiant game of Ultimate Frisbee in which Team Two beat Team One by over 4 points. Having played on Team One, I can say we fought hard and will happily have a rematch any time 😉
The evening ended with a game of telephone pictionary that made us almost roll with laughter.
Over all, I’d say it has been an incredible 2nd day of Academy 31.
