dianne g

Dianne is the devoted wife of Milo and together they have raised three wonderful children. Now all of her children are married and she absolutely loves being a grandma to her 3 grandchildren. She is also a second mother to others, and so she is affectionately known as Goosemama.

Reaching out to others is a way of life for Goosemama – she especially has a heart for those who are lonely or overlooked. Her hospitality is…wow. If you’ve never eaten from Goosemama’s kitchen, especially her French bread, you are missing out on life. She has a knack for figuring out what your needs are and meeting them in a way that doesn’t make you feel bad. A true servant.

Goosemama is a tough farm girl who likes milking her Jersey, producing fresh eggs from her flock of chickens, and digging in her garden. She’d probably beat you in an arm wrestling match, but then she’d share some of her homemade cheese with you or let you ride the four-wheeler.

She also likes eating dark chocolate, training for half marathons, watching action movies, and doodling. She doesn’t like sitting still, seeing anyone left out, being too serious, or sewing.

heather jones

Heather is a daughter of the King of Kings, wife, mom of two, homeschool graduate, servant of the body of Christ, homemaker, and avid DIYer. You can see her touch of beauty wherever she goes – her inviting home, her lovely singing voice, her beautiful decor for events, her adorably dressed kiddos, her kindnesses to others, her yummy food, her tasteful handmade crafts, her wise words.

Right now she’s in the midst nurturing her little ones, while transforming her and her husband’s recently purchased house into a home. Potty training and pre-homeschooling, painting and redecorating, considering home business ideas, and spending time with her family, fill her days.

Heather chose to live at home during her single years, learning and serving others. What an adventure the time she traveled out of state to nanny 8 children, 6 of them boys, all age 12 or under! A couple of her summers she devoted to coordinating and sewing costumes for a Christian theater company. She experienced running a home business when she taught voice lessons to children and sold her apron creations at a local shop. Heather grew up as a neighbor of the farm where Academy 31 is held, and has enjoyed so many adventures and scrapes at this place that is dear to her heart.

Detail-oriented, tenderhearted, creative, and steady describe Heather. She likes the Les Miserables sound track, sharp cheeses, An Old Fashioned Girl, and dinner for breakfast.

ivy d

Ivy is a homeschool graduate from Austin, TX with a passion for learning, teaching, and blessing others. She’s learned and taught cooking, nutrition, swimming, music, strength training, self defense, foreign languages (LOL, portugese to her 9 yr old sister), sewing and customer service. Through high school, Ivy worked for her brother’s landscaping/ property management business and two local ranches as a grunt. Hundreds of hours of weed eating later, she still likes it! She is one of those “Jill of many trades” type of girl; she does everything from field dressing her kill, driving her family’s big trucks and tractors, to creating amazing culinary arts in the kitchen (cheesecakes, curries, crepes, bearnaise, Beef Wellington, full course meals and fun hors d’oeuvres) and setting beautiful tables with linens, crystal and silver. Whether she is helping families by nannying and taking care of children, or cleaning and organizing her family’s house, she loves to find beauty in the mundane. She tries to pass that gratefulness and joy on to those around her.
...more from Ivy
Ivy also likes to read quality books on a variety of topics, shoot just about anything that goes boom, ride motorcycles, lift heavy weights with “her girls”, travel and braid her (5) sisters’ hair. Ivy enjoys singing with her sister and friends, harmonizing the alto role. Currently, Ivy is working in her family’s business, marketing, teaching, building leaders, traveling, encouraging and blessing everyone that she meets. In her “free” time, she is training her German Shepherd puppy in Search & Rescue so that he can get certified (as Ivy did) as a Wilderness EMT. Ivy has a vision, to impact and to inspire, to teach and to serve. She sees and loves the heart, the wounded and the struggling in this world. Her mission is to not only show His love, but to point others towards having His love. In her words – “We all fall short, we all fail, some of us are broken. There is beauty in that brokenness and in that humility before our Father. There is joy in seeking Him and serving others – being His hands to touch the lives of those around me.” “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” — Albert Schweitzer

tamera daily

Tamera is a Proverbs 31 woman. She loves caring for her husband and children whether it’s cutting their hair, cooking their favorite meal, or praying for them. She loves working with her hands – knitting and beading are her favorites. She loves serving others by cooking a meal for a sick family or new neighbor, volunteering to help on a project, or just by spending time with people who need a little love. She loves the outdoors: camping, caring for her chickens, gardening, and clearing her little patch of forest around her home.

Tamera attended beauty school for a year then ran her own hair shop for many years. Currently she enjoys blessing her family and friends with haircuts and gorgeous dos. Her aunt got her started knitting and now she’s run wild! Introduced to beading by a friend, a few classes and much experimenting later, she has fun seeing where her creativity carries her with her beads. She will be teaching all three of these skills at Academy 31.

A sweet quiet lady, Tamera also sparkles with fun once you get to know her. She stretches herself beyond her comfort zone, like when she kills a snake or took an acting class to help overcome her shyness. What are some of her favorite things? Izzes, resale shopping, Hello Kitty, chatting with an old friend over a cup of tea, feminine clothes, and listening to beautiful music.

A verse that’s special to her is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
